President's Message
Dear Garden Club Friends,
Our Theme for the next two years is “IT'S SHOWTIME”.
The goal is to promote and popularize Flower Shows in our towns and cities. Flower Shows are a perfect way
to recruit new members by advertising all of the things that Garden Clubs do for the community. I strongly believe
that The Flower Show is the Garden Club’s Showcase…to tell our communities what we are about and that we
are an active, progressive, beneficial organization dedicated to Beautify and Protect our world.
With the declining number of Flower Shows being held throughout our country, many Garden Clubs have never had a
Flower Show, many members have never attended a Flower Show. So, our Garden Club “experts” the people who have
experience and expertise have volunteered to help.
Promotion and publicity are most important. And, our state chairmen and officers are prepared to make the most of all of our
resources to help publicize these shows.
Other Projects and Goals for the next two years…
- Getting every Arizona Garden Club on the NGC Website.
- Increased participation in Home and Garden Shows with items to sell and to provide demonstrations and workshops at these events
- Introduce children to the joy of gardening.
- Publicize individual club’s accomplishments in garden therapy, youth programs, community projects and services…Letting the public know that Garden clubs are important to their communities.
- Begin a new series of Flower-Show-Schools.
It is a pleasure to be an Arizona Federation of Garden Club’s member. And, I am so thankful to all of the great officers and members and friends who have been my inspiration for over 40 years. I am truly honored to be president of this amazing organization.
